I like people, pretty much everyone. I've worked in corporate business. most of my life, when I was laid off due to downsizin, I was givin an opportunity to care for an uncle who had dementia and became his 24/7 caregiver, until the passed away. I found it to be, the hardest, most rewarding job of my life. I couldnt go back to Corporate America. I was a good server at a senior citizen retirement community and found great joy there, being able to get to know the people, helping them in any way brought a Fulfilment to my life that I never experienced before. My first few days with them I thought the seniors citizens were mean, and they scared me a little. As time passed, I realized a lot of them were short or firm with all new people... I feel, now, that our elderly are overlooked, as if they're not there or no longer have feelings or a voice. It just takes time to get to know people, soon I had all their habits down, knew the special things they needed or my attention was on, what might just make their life a little bit easier. I couldn't wait to tell a joke or talk about the news or complain about the heat. All I know, is my heart is in the right place and I honestly care about how I can makes a difference in someone else's life.
