Hi! My name is Melissa, I began working at a retirement home 3 years ago as a server. That was my first job ever and I really enjoyed working in the geriatric community and being with all of the residents I worked with. On my days off I would often go in to volunteer with the activities director and I would play bingo with the residents and read to them. As time passed by I realized I wanted to do something more that would allow me to spend more time with the residents and that's when I decided to get my caregiver certification and I started working at the company as a caregiver. I enjoyed every second of it, being with the residents and knowing I was able to help them and make their day at least a little bit better was something that made me feel so good about myself. I consider myself a very caring and compassionate person. I enjoy being a caregiver because I like helping other people and I wouldn't be able to see myself doing anything other than this.
