I genuinely enjoy taking care of people who need help. Perhaps this is why God blessed me with two wonderful natural children with special needs, although now both deceased. Caring for them, I believe, makes caregiving very natural for me. After my daughter's passing in 2017, I needed to fill the caregiving void; so I did some volunteering as a hospice caregiver. I remembered the love and care I was given by them during my daughter's final weeks, and I wanted to return that love. It was pretty awesome. In addition to caring for my own children, I also worked as a residential supervisor at the Denton Assisted Living Facility, where I supervised the care of 18 residents and appxly. 12 rotating staff members. Loved my guys, and made sure they had a happy and loving home. What I love most about caregiving, is having the opportunity of showing people they matter and have dignity, regardless of their age, physical or mental condition. Everyone needs to know they matter, and I have developed the skill sets to demonstrate that reality to those I care for.
