I appreciate the chance to get to know clients and their families and become an integral part of their lives. My entire career and personal life has been inspired by taking care of others. My first job was working in a nursing home as a Dietary Aide when I was 16 years old- I loved it. A few years later, I obtained my Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) certificate and worked at the same nursing home assisting the elderly with daily needs for 2 years. I have worked in settings such as home care, hospice, hospitals, nursing homes and a variety of other areas as a CNA and BHT. What do you like about being a Caregiver? Being a care giver to me is a rewarding experience, as we age sometimes we're forgotten about because our loves ones are so busy working and raising their own families. This can sometimes can lead to the elderly feeling as if no one cares. They can lose their sense of belonging. That's where people like me come in; we're there to be good listeners, provide assistance, and allow the elderly person to remain independent in their homes. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? My personal achievement was buying my first house on my own. I was the person in my family who took care of my Mother for the 10 last years of her life which I feel was wonderful and a proud achievement. Tell us something about yourself. I Have always been an independent thinker and I enjoy being able to impact people lives with the care I provide.
