From the age of 14 till 21 I took care of my elderly neighbor. At first it was taking in her mail and trash cans, which lead to over night and weekend care. When I was 16 I was then working for her 3-5 nights a week overnight; cooking, cleaning helping to the bathroom dressing etc.. from 18 to 21 I helped with medication, bathing, grocery's, Drs appts and bills. She passed and I found a "real" job. Ive never quite felt what I felt working for my friend. I feel a very significant self worth doing what I used to. We watched MASH and old black and white movies. I did her nails, and permed her hair... This was years ago however you never forget how to care for another. I would love another chance at having a friend like her, so here I say would be my chance.
