Being someone who loves people, I have been nurturing and helping friends and family all my life. I took care of my Dad, who passed from cirrhosis of the liver, to the end. I also have taken care of a few dear friends who have dealt with cancer, dementia, alzheimer's, end stage renal disease and heart issues. I believe we are all put here on this earth to help each other and you should always treat others as you want to be treated. Enjoyment comes from knowing, however hard the situation is, that you did your best to make their time here (and also their final moments) full of love, happy and funny moments, respect, and dignity always. A gentleman I took care of, who passed at 84, told me that he had never had a birthday party in his entire life. Myself, and others who loved him, gave him a wonderful birthday party and he was so happy! He passed shortly after that. Knowing I make a difference in someone's life is the best achievement!
