I am a natural nurturing person. I I decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a nurse or a doctor. I had a grandmother that suffered from Alzheimer's disease for 13 years. Majority of the time that she was sick I cared for her. I always knew I needed to get into the health field because I saw how important it is to have a support system. When you have someone in your family who can no longer take care of themselves it seems to have a ripple effect with everyone surrounding them. At some point we could no longer take care of my grandmother in the house so we had to hire a home health aide and in doing so I really grew to appreciate the nature of the job. You become an extended family member you grow great bonds with your clients or patients and their familes. I love being an aide.

Patience. When dealing with the elderly, it is essential for a caregiver to be patient. I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where I have one-on-one interaction with others. I Love Making a Difference in Someone's Life. My personal achievement that I am proud of is Parent hood.

I became a care giver because I love working with people especially the elderly. I love taking care of the elderly and I love the companionship. They have so many stories to tell and they still have so much to offer. They have sent their lives taking care of people and it's time for someone to care for them. My greatest personal achievement is obtaining my CNA license. It is the first thing I have started and finished since high school. Also, being a mother is another thing that is important to me. Hello! I owned & operated a boutique home care agency serving seniors for fifteen years prior to selling the agency and moving to SC with my husband and two boys a couple years ago. I absolutely love spending time with seniors. I enjoy providing companionship and listening to their stories. I love to cook! I am able to assist with all activities of daily living including light housekeeping, cooking, personal care, transportation, medication, exercise... I have extensive training/experience working with dementia as well as many other conditions. I am honest, compassionate, reliable and hardworking. I made the decision to help others after helping my grandparents and great grandmother all through out my life. Seeing all of them being surrounded with a supportive family during their final years was truly a blessing, but sadly, not everyone is as lucky to have the constant care they did. I understand that a busy life can get in the way of helping out our loved ones, and I'd love to help them and provide company whenever I can. I love being able to help others and have often been complimented on my patience and understanding with those who need it. In her finally years, I helped my great grandmother with many activities, mostly with household chores and personal company (she was in her 90s whenever I was helping her.) I have been exposed to and helped people with memory issues, cancer, diabetes, etc. I am use to preparing food and reminding others to eat and to take their medication . I have much personal experience in this area and have no problem treating others with respect as I would want to be treated the same way. :)

I BECAME A CAREGIVER BECAUSE I HAVE A SOFT SPOT FOR PEOPLE IN NEED AND HAVE WITNESS ABUSE AND I VOUCHED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN PEOPLE LIFE. I have ten plus years experience in caregiving in all areas. I'm most experienced with senior caregiving. I also have experience with special needs care, psychological disorders, etc... I'm highly compassionate in my caregiving. Once we get to know each other you can tell I really care about the person I'm taking care of. I'm not just there to be there. I'm there to help, & assist anyway I can.

I always get told at my job now that I am really good with the residents their and that I am always smiling and positive about everything. I have always had love for caring for others. I have taken care of my mother when she got sick up until she passed and I now take care of my grandmother. I love working with elderly people because i love to hear all there stories and get to know them and laugh and talk. They are so sweet and know a lot about life and they can teach me things i never knew about. It is a great opportunity for anyone to work in this field.
