My initial interest in caregiving began when I started caring for my Grandmother who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 1987. I saw the difference it made in her life to have someone available and willing to help her with the things that most of us are able to take care of ourselves. We take for granted every day that we are healthy and able to perform these tasks. It is a blessing to have someone who is available to help us with these things when we are no longer able to do them. In my time as a caregiver, I feel that I have seen and helped with everything from the most basic needs to the most complex. There isn't much that scares me. I am easily able to let difficulties with even the most challenging clients slide right off my back. I have thick skin and I am not easily offended. When I accepted the position with Visiting Angels back in 2011, not only was I able to supervise a crew of approximately 65 caregivers but I had the opportunity to occasionally assist with filling in for those caregivers in the event of an emergency. Since moving here to Florida in late 2015 I have not had the opportunity to work directly with clients since my work now is mostly computer and phone related supervisory duties, remotely from home. I miss the hands on care and the one on one relationships that are formed when caregiving. I am very interested in helping to supplement my income while making a difference in someone else's life. Now that we have moved back to the Greenville, SC area, I am ready to get started!

I have 35 years of caregiving experience. Have taken care of patients from the age of birth to 101 yrs old. Worked with hospice care, psychiatrics hospital, parkinson's, cancer, the blind, cognitive problems, paralyzed patients, dementia and many other illnesses and diseases.

The main reason I became a CNA to help my grandmother. Being raised by my grandmother, I want to do anything I could to help her as she has done for me until her passing. Since her death in 1977, I use my skills and experience helping other seniors. What I enjoy most about caring for seniors is knowing I have made a different in their lives. When I provide care to my clients, I'm providing care to myself, a very good friend, my grandmother, my mother, my grand father, because my clients are a part of my family. My greatest achievement in caring for my clients is when I can give them something that the doctor or medication cannot give and that's a sense that life doesn't have to be over. For example I have bought home clients from the hospital who was given two weeks to live, after caring for them they out live the two weeks by months and one lived almost a year longer than what the doctor had given. She was able to travel twice to her home state (from California to Ohio), driving her car, and so much more that she was told she couldn't do. I have worked for agencies but prefer to work with private clients to give the care that is needed that agencies charge extra for. I am reliable, dependable, CPR certified, but more important I am capable of doing

I'm an enthusiastic caregiver who has been giving the highest level of care for over 20 years there's pretty much nothing I haven't seen before. It gives me great pleasure to see clients excel at activities that they are normally doing and aiding them in the fractions that they cannot complete themselves. I've come to find is learning your client is key knowing how they like to do something and helping them do their task or doing the task the way they prefer if at all possible keeping sense of self inactivities

I was a critical care nurse for 12 years in Orlando Florida, I am retired . I took care of my father with cancer for 6 years and my mother who had cancer a stroke blind in one eye for years. I also help the Amish in Ohio with elderly care medical instruction and medications. I enjoy working with elderly people and being an individual with mild fibromyalgia myself I understand and can relate to a person experiencing pain and disability. My mother was a nurse and worked until her 70,s. I worked in the funeral industry 6 years after retiring from nursing. I attend church pre-Covid on sundays and enjoy my grown grandchildren here in Greenville. I prefer to work afternoons and evenings or weekends.
