I am compassionate, caring, and understanding. I am very outgoing and can hold a conversation, but I also know when to just sit and be a companion. I enjoy providing care for those who cannot care for themselves and I take pride in the fact that I have the ability to do so. I care for others as I would want others to care for a member of my family. What attracted me to being a caregiver was when my mother wasn't able to care for herself, (which ironically gives me most of the expertise I have in caregiving). My mother had a motorcycle accident in 2012 which inabled her from most daily activity. On top of that she developed many medical ailments (cataracts, diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, incontinence, etc.). I cared for her until her passing in February of 2020. I enjoy the personal familiarity of caring for someone in their home environment. Being able to get to know them and their family on a personal level. Although it can be heartbreaking at times, it also brings a warmth and special bond and I believe that ecah bond is a personal achievement and those are all things that I am proud of.

I started being a caregiver when my father was diagnosed with dementia. It was challenging at first but I found a love of taking care of people that just needed help. I'm skilled with repositioning, transferring and ambulation with clients I've worked with the mentally disabled, handicapped, and jeryatric patients. Im also well trained on catheter care, colostomy care, palliative care and peri care. I have worked with clients who are on oxygen therapy, kemo therapy, physical therapy. I'm a decent cook.
