I have been a Licensed Vocational Nurse for 4 years. I was born and raised in Houston tx, along with my family. I have worked with pediatric to geriatric patients in a home health care setting as well as a clinical setting. I love working with people of all ages and the joy I bring to my families. I started off taking care of my husband's grandmother in her home at first I was scared because I never done it before but after a few months it was the most amazing job I could ever have! It gave me a chance to get to know the patient and spend time with them learn their ways of living but the best thing I loved about it was listening to her life story it was so incredible after 6 months she passed away and it was the hardest thing about that job but I felt so good to be there for her and help her with anything she needed!! After that I fell in love with the idea of being a caregiver so I started a career in the health care field I started working when my daughter was 8 months old and have been a caregiver every since ...I love the elderly and when you get to know these people you learn that most the time you are all they have they look for you to take care of them to come see them spend time with them love them like they are your own family cause really I feel like we're all they have being a caregiver is the best thing anyone can do its an amazing feeling to be able to love other people they become your family!! And I wouldn't want it any other way

The traits that help me to become a great caregiver is to be compassionate, loving, dependable, and trustworthy. Things that attracted me to be a caregiver is I enjoy talking with elder people and more so because I was the helping hand for my grandmother before her passing. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the one on one conversations I have with my patient speaking on past life and obstacles they went through in life and how they survived. My personal achievement is I was able to nurse one of past patients back to health in the length of 3 wks to a month
