I was raised by my grandparents for the first 14 years of my life, and they are my inspiration for pursuing caregiving. I have provided support to both my grandparents throughout the years through all their ailments and illnesses. My grandfather suffered from a massive stroke in 2011, and his health deteriorated after that; from bypass surgery, kidney disease and dialysis, hypertension, diabetes, to most notably, dementia, that transformed his entire being. I always told myself, "What papa couldn't remember, I'll never forget". I unfortunately lost my grandfather in Dec 2017, but he is my reason for wanting to be of service to my community and especially to our geriatric population. As an aspiring physician preparing to apply for medical schools, I am taking this time to also work as a caregiver because I love being able to provide care, comfort, and joy to the elderly. More important, I love creating meaningful relationships with my clients to ensure greater trust and bonding, and I thrive from a sense of reward and fulfillment when knowing that I positively influence my clients' lives! I take on a light-hearted, affectionate, and dedicated approach to providing in-home care services, and more than that, I treat all my clients as if they are a part of my own family. Some may consider my tendency of forming attachments to my clients as a weakness, but I consider it a strength because it ensures I provide the best level of care possible for people I genuinely care about!
