About Sharlie

I am a great care giver because I'm patient, kind, nurturing and I like to be precise.I understand the limited abilities the patients have and so I show them that I am completely there to help in every kind of way.I'm a good listener and use my memory to remember just how the patient likes and goes about things the way that they normally do.I like to promote positive habits and take seriously what needs to be done for them. My current job that I'm working at is called Behavior Matters.Monday through Friday I have the opportunity of working with children who have autism.I also currently have a caregiving position that I partake in every Saturday.I visit a senior that is 87 and unfortunately has dementia.I am gaining experience in helping in the restroom. Each Saturday I get the opportunity to keep him company, play games with him to keep his mind active, along with small physical activity to gain more strength in his legs and upper body as well. I enjoy being able to help with small self-care needs(ex. Combing his hair and cleaning/cutting his fingernails). We also listen to the Bible frequently and I prepare dinner for him too. What I like most about care giving is that I get to be that one person they can depend on and through that they show me their trust. I love making them laugh even if it's only for a second! Being a care giver for me is very full-filling because I love helping people.I am 24 years old and through out the years I have learned that keeping a positive attitude can take you further than anything else. My life is devoted to Jesus and living for Him because of what He did for me. With Him being the center of my life He's helped me see what's truely important.I would love to be a helper to you and your loved ones. Please let me know if you think I'd make a good fit to your family.(: Thank you

Behavior Matters
Each day I see regular clients. Every client has a specific protocol that we have to follow regarding where they fall on the spectrum and the needs that need to be met for them to live a functional independent life for themselves. Data sheets are used which are then graphed into percentages to see the progress being made within them and we play/teach with the kids to make learning fun. The goal is for them to graduate from ABA services someday and realize that having autism isn't a disability at all and just adds to their uniqueness as an individual.

Margaret M.

$25.00/hour · Carmichael, CA
My name is Margaret and I am actively seeking a caregiving position. I have been with my current client for 3 1/2 years but the time has come to make a change. I am a Dementia and Alzheimer's specialist. I am experienced in Memory Care. Memory Care clients are my favorite people in all of healthcare! Though my first pick is with the Dementia and Alzheimer's clients, I have had other clients with other conditions, such as, stroke, diabetes and congested heart failure etc.. In 2011 when my ex mother in law became sick I became one of her caregivers. It was then that I realized how much I enjoyed caring for her. I do believe this is my calling. I was once offered a position as manager of a home health company. I did not think I could do that job. I was right because I need to be the caregiver not the office person. I love my job. I like everything about caregiving. I love my seniors. I love their stories and their laughter. I'm happy when they are happy. I look forward everyday to seeing my seniors. I love cooking, cleaning and fussing over my seniors, so I'm a natural at caregiving. Remember if you love what you do it's never a job. My fee starts at $25 an hour. My fee increases if the shift is split. Also would like employer to pay a share of taxes. I am currently working for $24 an hour but I am not so sure that after 36.5 months it's working. So money is not the deciding factor for me. If you are looking for an experienced Alzheimer and or Dementia CNA , I could be the one!
