I have been a caregiver for over 10 years. My mother & sisters are also in the field. We are natural caretakers. It's in our nature. My Grandma has always had diabetes so we've learned to check glucose levels & administer her insulin at a young age. This isn't just a job for me, it's a lifestyle. I enjoy hearing the stories & knowledge of the older generation. I learn so much & receive good survival skills! A personal achievement I'm proud of is being able to provide around the clock care for a patient, whom had no family. I was able to bring her happiness & warmth through the love of my own family. She wanted to meet my kids & formed bonds with them. (She insisted they call her Grandma Pat) she would tell stories of growing up in a world of no to little technology, it intrigued them! Giving back & providing happiness through relationships has made my clients part of my family. I love what i do!
