About Cynthia

Until recently, being a caregiver had not really been a conscious choice as a career because in some fashion or another; I have been a caregiver for the majority of my life. There have been positions that have had monetary compensation, such as my current position, while some positions have been on a volunteer basis. An example of volunteer caregiving was when a friend of mine had back surgery, a few years ago. For several weeks, I assisted her with the majority of her activities of daily living such as: bathing, ambulating, housekeeping, meal preparation as well as transporting her to medical appointments and communicating on her behalf with her medical providers. I enjoy people. Being a caregiver is a win-win situation, where I am providing a service and have opportunity to meet new people. I have the ability to provide quality companionship and caregiving regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or orientation. I take pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment for my clients and will perform light housekeeping duties. Caregiving provides me with the satisfaction of making a positive difference. Helping someone to walk after a surgery, assisting with range of motion exercises, or simply playing cards with my client; these examples are just a few ways that I can show compassion and caring for others.
