Hello, my name is Danielle Brooks. I am twenty one years old and was born and raised in Bakersfield, Ca. I am a very loving, respectful, intelligent, beautiful, hardworking young woman and the list can go on and on. I am also very active in my church. I live at home with my family. They are very supportive of my college attendance. My parents are always there to help in my course work when needed. I am a mid-term Stockdale High School graduate. I plan to get my AA in biology from Bakersfield College after the fall semester and then continue my education at Cal State University Bakersfield. I am pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing. My goal is to become a registered nurse in prenatal care, a nurse that helps women who are in labor prepare to have their baby. I chose nursing as my major after completing research on different career paths I was interested in. I also was able to learn more about the medical field by volunteering and job shadowing at San Joaquin Community Hospital. I volunteered for one year in the labor and delivery unit, and the cancer center. I observed deliveries, epidural procedures, and learned medical coding. Also, I helped in the Gift Shop, assisting customers with completing purchases. After doing my research I then knew that being a nurse would be something I could see myself doing and also a job that I would have a passion for. While Being in college I have became a licensed Certified Nurse Assistant that i have continue for 2 years. I can truly say that I love working with senior citizens because I am able to given them the 100% care they need and also show them love like their my family.
