About Nia

Hello, my name is Nia Polee I enjoy helping others. It's a very rewarding feeling to be able to provide kindness, respect, and love to anyone who is around. My field of study is psychology, I would like to one day work as a certified home aid technician/school counselor in a high school. I've always known myself to be very friendly, honest and helpful. I seek being a caregiver because I genuinely enjoy connecting with people. I enjoy conversations and laughing. My whole life I've surrounded my self around my elders because I felt like their experiences and/or stories kept me wise. I believe that when God gives you the ability to help people then we should take full advantage. I'd hope to gain trust and comfortabilty, I know that taking on a caregiving job, it is important that the caregiver-ee is very comfortable and can trust their caregiver. A personal achievement is just being able to graduate high school and almost being a graduate with my Associates in Arts this coming up May, 2019. I'm first generation to do so, so that makes me feel very good.

It is a profession that found me. It started with a next door neighbor I had once. She was an elderly lady and needed help with small things in the beginning and then gradually our relationship grew to the point where I was completely taking care of her and I enjoyed her company so much it didn't seem like a job to me. I fell in love with being a caregiver and the rest is history. My personal achievement would be going back to school and graduating at the top of my class. It's never too late to reinvent yourself. I have since went on to work at a senior living community and have had a lot of fun working there. I recently received my CNA license.
