I become a CNA when my grandmother had a stroke. I like taking care of people

As an EMT, I learned the importance of taking care of those in need during critical moments. Often times, the greatest satisfaction came from simply keeping a mother,father, child or grandparent safe and stable long enough for the family to be there with them and hold their hand. The relief I would see on the family's face, knowing that their loved one was being taken care of pays off in ways material things never could. I got into care-taking initially to make some extra income in a way that came naturally to me. Although I was no stranger to the medical field, I wasn't sure what to expect. Now, some time later, I can say that there is a satisfaction in knowing that I am playing a small role in a family's journey to best provide for their loved one. Being called a friend of a nearly 90 year old man who I've know a fraction of that time is something I will most likely always hold dear. Listening to stories of a childhood in a different era, a marriage that spanned over six decades, and the ups and downs of a life lived are all things not easily obtained. As someone who can't stand the sight of others in pain or misery, I look forward to providing compassion with dignity and care with expertise for your loved one.
