    Took a position of manner to be visible to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic, observed the traffic flow, and watched for gaps, in order to effectively halt traffic: observes that all vehicles are reducing their speed in preparation to stop. Traffic is halted by the appropriate sign and hand signal, escorted school roadway until the school children comply with safety precautions within the immediate vicinity. When necessary, reported those students or persons who fail to cooperate with the crossing guard directions to the affected school principal or other appropriate authorities. Observed and submitted essential evidence: characteristics of automobile, driver description, time of day, direction of travel to proper authorities when motorists and pedestrians violate the California vehicle code and crossing guard directions near the assigned locations. Maintained records and reported relative to activities, persons, incidents, at or near the assigned cross guard location.
