I choose nursing because I love to help others. I enjoy the geriatric setting. I am patient, caring and willing to adapt to new situations. At the age of 16 my grandfather came to live with us and my mom was his caregiver. He became total care and my my taught me how to care for him. I learned very young to put him on the bed pan, empty his catheter, give him medications. At the age of 17 I would relieve my mom so she can spend time with my dad. I loved every moment and chose to become a nurse. It makes me feel good to give a lending hand. I know that one day I will be in those shoes. I am a single mother and have raised 4 wonderful children who are independent. I got the gold standard award at ICBH in 2011 and I became Employee of the County in 2019.
