I am a 61 year old lady and an older mom with a daughter (16 yrs) and son (23 yrs). I've been doing caregiving for over 20 years. For the last 2 1/2 years, I worked with clients with Alzheimer's and I feel very comfortable in working getting their needs met, while helping them feel safe and reducing anxiety. With becoming a caregiver, I had just finished my first semester of R.N. school when my mom and first husband both died of cancer (25 days apart) and I was needed to care for my father as his grieving made him unable to care for himself. I then, to assist me with my own grief, started to help care for others, first with hospice, then went on to caregiving for people in their homes. I love caregiving because helping people (especially older folks) brings joy and comfort to me. The trust that clients and families give to me is humbling and rewarding. Again, working with clients who have Alzheimer's takes a special place in my heart, but I love helping anyone in need. If you will try me out as a caregiver for yourself (or loved one), you will be happy and very satisfied. I have letters of reference and am happy to work with you....rest assured everything you wish/need accomplished will be done in a timely, professional and loving way.

Caregiving has always come second nature to me. I remember intuitively rubbing my grandmother's back and feet at a very young age, because of how much discomfort she was in and wanting to relieve her from all her aches and pains. I learned early on that simply engaging in conversation or encouraging my grandmother to go on walks, would alleviate much of her pain and boost her spirits almost instantaneously. As, I grew older I took on many volunteering and paid jobs to assist, care, and provide companionship to children with disabilities, the elderly, and terminally ill patients. What I enjoy most about caregiving is the ability to connect with the person and build a trustworthy friendship . My biggest personal achievement is, I have turned my passion for caregiving into my career goal which is to become a Medical Doctor.
