A few years ago I became a caregiver at one of the local senior living facilities truthfully out of necessity and convenience. I discovered however that I possessed the perfect gifts; patience, a listening ear, compassion and attitude for those in need of care. What caregivers do is very intimate in nature and I feel accomplished when I am able to serve and care for the personal needs of my clients in such a way that they maintain their dignity and self respect. It gives me great satisfaction to know that my work contributes to improving the quality of life to my clients. I feel most accomplished when I'm told that they miss me when I'm off or say they want me to be with them when they transition on.
