I started caregiving in 1985 I took care of my great Uncle who had a heart condition. He moved in with me. I cooked his meals, gave heart medication, took him to doctor appointments, companionship. I really liked the idea of getting into the field. I started with Precious Home Companion in Vallejo, CA I also worked with Home instead out of Rhonert Park, CA I worked many cases with them. One of my client's was Julia Child's sister in Sausalito, CA I worked with this client for 1 year. My last private client was in Mill Valley, CA July 2018- July 2019 I then moved back to San Diego July 2019 I applied with Comforcare & done all types of job assignments up until 2 months ago (still with them) but found a private job with an elderly couple. One client was on hospice for 31 days at home. He recently passed away. He had heart problems. I now work with his wife. She will be going to assisted living very soon. I'm putting myself out there to keep up this field of work. I like being with people that need caring & love!

Hi, I first became a caregiver because I wanted to know what it was like helping someone in need. After my first client I realized how much I love being a caregiver. I enjoy everything about my job. I feal very lucky and blessed to have found my calling. I love learning new things especially if they are medical related. I have done case management in a residential home which included scheduling appointments, ordering medications and/or medical equipment, Interview and training new caregivers and weekly meal planning. I have worked with patients with COPD, hoyer lift,MS,Dementia and Alzheimer's and skin cancer treatments. I have also experience in hospice care. The bond that I create with my clients is a wonderfull experience. I like to bake and try new recepies. On my spare time I like to go shopping, do arts and crafts, read non fiction books and watch movies. Oh and I recently started painting.! I think everyone has something unique about themselves and what ever their talent is or was I like to get inspired by it and try new things.
