About Jewel

When I was only four years old, my mother used to take me to work with her. She was a caregiver for developmentally disabled adults. I watched how she interacted, and their excitement when she was around. Needless to say, I fell in love with helping others, I would get upset when I wasn't t aloud to go with her. At the age of 19, I did the exact same work, which got me interested in becoming a nursing assistant. To date, I'm currently a CNA with 14 years experience in skilled nursing, hospice, private care and assisted living. There is no other field of work for me, trust me, I've tried a few others. None can compare to compassion for the quality of life. I absolutely love helping and assisting, and hearing the history of those wiser than myself. If I had to name one weakness, it would definitely be my fear of dogs, I'm sure I've missed out on caring for some absolutely beautiful people because of it.
