About Cathy

1) a friend's mother moved to town and she needed someone to give her showers. That is how I started. I fell in love with this woman that I was working with. My job grew into me living with her for a year, but I only give her showers again. 2) I never had any kids, I think I just enjoy nurturing someone that will accept it. 3) I lost 95 pounds. I gave up a 28 year drug addiction over 17 years ago. I stopped drinking 6 years ago. Probably not what you want to hear, but that is what I am proud of doing. 4) I am a 56 year old woman. I have a bird and a puppy dog. I am in AA and go to meetings almost every day. I go to church, I love my family very much, but my loves of my loves of my life are my pets. I just got through burying my ferret. I love Christian music and now I love the OLD movies. I live alone and I love my life! I want to work part-time 15 to 20 hours a week but no more. I think I am a great caregiver because I really care. I love the lady that I work for and with. I try to make her life a little easier and a little bit better while I am there. I love to spoil her in any way I can. I am kind and patient. I guess that I treat her as I would want someone to treat me if I were in her situation. My personality is a people pleaser. I am nice, sweet, caring, talkative, I love deeply, I tend to dote on the ones I love and have to be reminded sometimes to step back sometimes. That is me!

Get her up out of bed and onto and off of the toilet. Get her dressed. Take her blood pressure and dispense medication. Prepare her meals for her. Be a companion. Clean the house, do laundry. Listen when she wants to talk and leave her alone but stay close by when she is watching TCM Turner Classic Movies which is about 16 hours a day. I help her with the mail, she is a stroke survivor and is paralyzed on her left side, so I do what she can't do. The other pat of my job is showering her twice a week - Tuesdays and Fridays. I still work with her and plan to until she dies, she is 92.
