My name is Loraini Draunidalo (Lora). I just want to tell you about myself and my caregiving background. I am 37 years old and originally from Fiji. I have been a caregiver since 2001 and I started out in a Convalescent Home in Santa Cruz as a non-experienced first timer caregiver. I had to learn really quick as I had 52 clients at night which some of them are counting on me to change their pullups/diapers every 2 hours, emptied and recorded catheters, administered medications or showers early in the morning. I survived 2 years at Twilight Manor and also gained my 2 years experienced. Moved to San Jose and continued working as a caregiver for a year in an Elderly Caregiving Agency and switched to Technology for 3 years. Worked for Hewlett Packard and unfortunately I was one of those who got the early pink slip. In 2007 I continued my caregiving with an Agency for 3 years and started out as a Private Caregiver in 2010 to present. I am certified CPR and First Aid. All these years that I have been doing caregiving, I have done cooking that can adapt to any diet, Light Housekeeping, Transportation, Assisted with bathing, clothing and feeding. Recorded Vital Signs and exercises. I have the patience, the care and passion. I take my job seriously and make sure my client is comfortable with me in his/her own home.
