I became a caregiver when my father got sick of emphysema. Being a caregiver is a rewarding job because I help people especially seniors that can't perform what they used to do when they are still young. I also help the family to continue their lives by being there to their love ones. Im proud to be a caregiver when one of my resident recovered from an accident that her vertebrae compressed. I am a certified nursing assistant and a certified home health aide. A hardworking, loving, patience, kind hearted person. For me, the best caregiver is not based on the length of service she had but through the heart and passion she loves to do. Families of my past residents or clients considered me as part of their family because of the love and care that i have given to their love ones. I usually assign in facilities and hospitals. Right now, most of my assignments are in San Francisco. Commuting is not a problem with me coz I believe in a saying \\\"if there 's a will, there's a way\\\".

I always love to take care of the elderly. I got this attitude because of my mom. I saw myself in my moms shoes. I understood that as I grow old, the experience that she's going through and the things that elderly faces in their lives daily - physical limitations, emotional issues or heart issues. I will also be facing and I need to embrace this change in my moms life with love, care and attention. Same feeling that I have everytime I see old people or elderlies. Personal achievement I think was when my boss included me in the Christmas family card that a usual american household do every year. I saw my picture included and that brought tears to my eyes. They treat me as their own family and cared so much. Just that gives me encouragement and motivation to be the best caregiver that I can be. My previous clients family (Bernice Johnson passed already) also keeps their connection with me and always sends me card on my birthday and Christmas days. Although they were my client almost 2 years ago, they still keep contact. And i am so grateful that the difference that we caregiver makes leaves a special mark in their lives and are not forgotten.
