I have been caring for seniors since I was the age of 17. Either with a relative of my parent's friends or from online sites just like this! I have a high passion working with the elderly since my grandmother, who also was a caregiver for over 30 years and after being diagnosed with cancer, she too became an elder in need of care until she passed in 2005. I became a licensed CNA in May, 2008-2010 where it expired. From that period of time, I was working in a facility where we would care for patients that were diagnosed with dementia, Alzheimer, diabetic, recovering from surgeries, etc. We would also provide daily baths, take each patient to their daily activity schedules, therapy appointments etc. I felt during this time I wasn't providing all the care each of my 12 patients needed as an individual, so I came to terms that I wanted to become an in home caregiver. From there, I am able to provide my care as an employee as well a friend and companion that seniors need considering they are always home. I enjoy doing what I do, I enjoy knowing what I am to provide to the seniors puts them at ease of knowing they still have their independence in their own homes. My goal is simply to have the seniors live comfortably in their homes, help build their independence, let them know they are the boss and not I and that I'm simply here to help when needed.
