I been a caregiver for 10 yrs. I remember my grandmother being sick and caregivers coming in and out of our home. I saw how they had so much passion for taking care of my grandmother and how my grandmother felt happy and safe around them. I saw how my mother had no worries when the caregivers where there and she could still work and have someone she trusted at home. The caregivers were so nice that every time I asked what where they doing and why they would always explain. When our weekend caregiver could no longer help us I started helping my mom take care of my grandmother at the age of 15yrs old that's when it really hit me that I wanted to be part of the medical field to help others. When my grandmother passed I started helping my best friend's mom by taking care of her mother and that's when I realized I wanted to be a caregiver for the Elderly people. I realized they can't do things on their own and depend on others to take good care of them. I have learned different scenarios while being a care giver and I love what I do.

As a caregiver, I can manage all my duties and responsibilities. I can create and manage the patient's records including patient progress, treatments, and medical history. Execute house cleaning duties. Make sure that errands are run, clothes are washed and meals are cooked. Perform medical duties, like giving medication, taking blood pressure and temperature, all under the proper supervision of a qualified health care professional. Help patients correspond with friends and family by typing for them or answering phones and responding to message. Assist in bathing patients from time to time and turning them overin bed so that don't get bed soars. Advise patients family members with care instructions and guidelines for the patient. Drive the patients to different places such as the doctors office, stores, and recreational activities.
