Hello! My name is Jonathan. My life's passion and career choice since I was 18 years old was in the Gerontology field. What drew me most was listening each resident's story and reminiscing with them. Whenever I am providing care, I always ask myself this question, What would I do if this was my family member. My first job was working in an assisted living community as a caregiver. Simultaneously, I was studying to earn my college degree in communications and quickly moved up the ranks within a senior living company. I went from wiping ass to running the whole community. One key area of passion of mine is Dementia &Alzheimer's . It is crucial to know what type of dementia your loved one has and what stage in the disease process they are (early middle or late). Using this information, it will allow you to fully understand their needs, how to communicate (both verbal and non-verbal) and how you can manage and redirect any behaviors like sundowning. Not only am I an expert in dementia but I understand other physical depression, loneliness/isolation, grieving the loss of spouse, lack of exercise, balance and mobility, lack of mental stimulation, poor diet, dehydration, & even prescription drug abuse. I am comfortable in providing all care such as: bathing, dressing, medication management, help with eating, transferring and more. I have a complex understanding of the aging process and can provide care up until end of life. I am comfortable in providing assistance with all activities of daily life in a manner that is respectful and with dignity. On bathing/showering, I can provide stand by or full assist which is an easy and safe solution if you are considered about female only or male only. I always treat the seniors I care for as if they were my own family. I love what I do and aim to be not only a caregiver but a best friend. I hope to hear from you soon.
