To me being a Caregiver is more or less like a calling and besides, it is a job which matches my skills and experience. I grew up living with the grandparents (although my parents were alive) and I took care of them during their old age up to their last days. This made me like the job because I felt I was needed by someone and that I could make someone's life comfortable. I think I like being a caregiver because it makes me think less of myself and more of someone else. Also at the end of the day I feel fulfilled and happy for being able to do something for a person in need of my services. What I feel proud of as a personal achievement, among others, is the fact that my last client liked me so much so that she kept on asking the other caregiver who took over from me if she could convince me to go back and and continue working for her. Another personal achievement is the fact that I worked at the American Embassy in Tanzania, E.A. for 23 years and when I applied for permanent residency in the USA and attached all my performance awards and other work related records the selection committee approved my application, something that does not happen often. Originally I come from Tanzania, East Africa and have been living here in the USA since 2007 as a result of the special immigrant visa that I received.
