I have integrity, with the ability to work both in a team and independently. I am keen on observation, and able to document and communicate pertinent information. My caregiving journey began in 2009 when my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimers, with no one to assist her, I stepped into the role as her main caregiver. Once the disease progressed I enrolled into a CNA and HHA certification course in order to obtain the knowledge & skills to better care for her in the home. When she passed in 2017, I decided that I would help other geriatrics in a Skilled Nursing Setting. I soon realized that I could do more, so I started setting myself up to enroll in a Vocational Nursing program. I am proud to say that I graduated from the program with honors, and have been working as a LVN in a SNF & clinical setting. I have been trained in wound care, and certified in IV/blood withdrawals. I enjoy caregiving, because not only is it rewarding, it is also a way to build relationships with people from all walks of life, and gain insight into other ways of thinking.
