1. I became a Caregiver because it is important for me to give assistance to those unable to assist themselves. 2. What I enjoy most about being a Caregiver is the interaction with my clients. The experiences my clients have recounted are varied and interesting. 3. I am very proud of my ability to anticipate and resolve situations in a manner which reduces stress for my clients. I have been caring for others all of my life, beginning with siblings, neighbors, grandparents. I also have children and grandchildren that I'm still caring for in one fashion or another. Professionally I spent a number of y ears as a Montessori Preschool Teacher which I loved. However, the age group I worked with were the 18 months to 3 years old. Now that I am more mature I have chosen to work with an older clientele although there are differences between the young and the old, the core values are the same when caring for another human being. Compassion, dedication, reliability, and humor are some of the critical elements for any Caregiver to possess. Being a Caregiver has broadened my perceptions of what life has in store for me as I age.
