I recently became a stay at home mom and decided I would like to keep busy during the day while the kids are at school. I use to take care of an elderly woman with cancer many years ago before I had kids. I really enjoyed spending time with her and being able to make her day better. She was very depressed so I would try and find ways to cheer her up. She loved when I would do her hair, makeup, and nails. It made her feel pretty and gave her a reason to want to go out. She also enjoyed playing Dominoes and watching game shows. She was very thin and frail and had no appetite. I would have to cook anything she was craving to try to help her gain weight. I gave her her medication, weighed her daily, fed her, did her laundry, but most importantly I was her friend. I really miss her and enjoy helping others. I feel I have a lot of energy and love to give so why not start caring for someone in need again. I know I would want the same kind of care when I am unable to do things myself.

I use to take care of an elderly woman that had cancer years ago before I had children. I use to help her bathe, make her meals, do her hair and makeup, I would paint her nails, play games with her, did her laundry, you name it. I made sure to weigh her daily and encourage her to eat by cooking what she was craving. Mostly my job was to ensure her day was full of fun and she felt pretty. She was dying and I wanted her to enjoy her final days. I was blessed to be able to offer that to her.
