In order to be an excellent CAREGIVER you must be: Patient, being patient means that the person understands that there may be changes in plans, things may not go as quickly as planned, and there may be a little hesitation at times on the part of the person receiving care. Compassionate, when we are compassionate we are understanding what the other person might be go through. Attentive, it is important when providing home care that the caregiver is attentive to the needs and changes that are taking place. It is important to notice emotional changes etc of the person we are caring for. Trustworthy, I am a mom of 6 children and I know how important it is to trust the one you have hired to care for our loved ones. The client also needs to feel comfortable opening up there home and personal belongings to the home care professional.
