I have been a caregiver for the past 14 years. I started this type of work when I graduated high school. I started working in an Assisted Living facility. It feels amazing when one is able to bring out a smile from an elderly person after providing them with the help they need. A few years back I was assigned to care for a lady who was placed in Hospice. After a few weeks of care and patience, she was removed from Hospice. Since my help was no longer needed I was dismissed, but on my last day I received a beautiful letter from her family thanking me for taking such good care of their mother and for helping her come out of Hospice. One feels ecstatic when others are able to see and tell you what a passionate caregiver you are.
