Being a caregiver is more than just providing care to someone. Caring for another is about showing compassion and respect and being by their side. Patience is also a very important aspect of caring for others. My passion for helping others began during the time that I took care for my parents, my Dad who is 100yrs old now & my Mom who suffers from Alzheimers. I believed in Client centered way of dealing my clients, giving emphasis on what they need rather than what I want them to do. Dedicated to giving the best possible care I can, reliable and trustworthy are just few of my qualities to mention, with exceptional communication skills. With my 8 years experience working with different clients, not to mention the number of years taking care of my own parents, it gives me fulfillment knowing I was able to help, in one way or another, to provide for their individual needs & lighten their burden, be it physical, mental or emotional. Just being their for them is already an achievement.

Outside of raising six children, I've been a care giver for 26 years. I worked in children's ministry at a church four times a week for 18 years. I took care of my dad when he was dying from cancer. I served my Neighbor meals twice a day for several years. When he came down with cancer, his daughter hired me to take care of him while he was dying at the age of 96. In September 2019 I became companion caregiver to a 90 year-old man that has dementia. I really enjoy this type of work because I get to be part of giving a person a great quality life for him to enjoy! My number one priority is to keep him safe and healthy! I take him to museums, back Bay for a picnic/walks, park picnic/walk, and or a walk around the neighborhood. I stimulate his mind with crossword puzzles, we play together because sometimes he can get lost in the puzzle. Or sometimes we play cards. I encourage and assist him in do his daily exercises because he lose track of what he's doing. My number one goal is to give a good quality life to senior citizens because they deserve it!
