Hello. My name is Amy. I was a fine arts teacher in Texas working with teenagers and adults for 25 years. Seven years ago I moved to California and decided to change careers, working with seniors this time, helping them to have a better quality of life. As a senior caregiver for the last 5 years most of my clients have remained in their homes to receive care, but I've also helped some in assisted living facilities and hospitals. I have experience working with seniors who have had Alzhiemer's disease, dementia, memory impairment, visual and hearing deficits, end stage cancer as well as those who need short term assistance while healing from various injuries and surgeries. I am a very empathetic, kind-hearted and compassionate person who loves to help others. I prefer working part time and daytime shifts. I am fully vaccinated and boosted. (Pay is negotiable depending on care level needed) I'm a caring person naturally and I love to help others. This is partly what makes me a great caregiver. I have been caregiving for over 20 years and I find it very rewarding. I believe it is incredibly important work and treat it as such. I am also a CA Certified Massage Therapist and have been for approximately 10 years. I have a passion for the healing arts and am always learning more about healthcare in general. I'm very patient and kind. I'm honest and trustworthy. I'm observant, focused and detail oriented. I have an excellent work ethic and am punctual and responsible. I try to anticipate the needs of the person I care for and communicate clearly with family members to update them on daily activities. I like to clean and organize. I've been trained sanitation practices, nutrition, human anatomy, physiology and pathology. I'm physically strong and practise good body mechanics. I have many caregiving skills and have been around patients with a variety of needs. My greatest achievement, that I am grateful for, was the short time I was able to give care to my father in his last stage of life.
