1. When I was 13 my grandmother's heart began to fail, forcing her to have numerous heart surgeries. During her hospitalization, I would tend to her every need because I was her favorite grandchild. I watched the nurses and asked questions about the care they she was receiving. After each surgery they would let her go home but she still needed help with ADL's because she was no longer able to use her legs. I'd mimic the nurses actions as far as companion care and personal care. When I was 18 her heart failed completely, causing her death. This motivated me to make nursing my major in college. 2. I love making my client smile. Something so simple is one of the biggest aspects within this career. As long as my client is happy, I know I am tending to their every need. I love going into the office and my boss gives me the positive feedback the client has given her about my services they have received, that make me want to continue doing the best I can and try to do a little bit better. 3. My career as a caregiver has been the greatest accomplishment so far. I learn so much from my clients and their families. It brings me joy knowing my client is receiving the best care that I possess. Without my clients happiness, I don't have happiness. 4. I believe smiling, laughing and being happy are the most important things in life. If your soul isn't happy than you are not able to be content with your life which can cause you to make others miserable.
