I am currently in graduate school for nursing, but I want to say that it is not the nursing school that makes me a caregiver, but I am a natural one and the nursing school just provides the necessary education for me to do what I do. First and foremost, clients are just other human beings but happen to have certain diseases. They deserve basic respect and dignity. As a caregiver, that is why I prefer addressing them as "clients" over "patients". Knowing that they are in their most vulnerable time and needing help, I am there for them to provide my service as a professional. I enjoy being beside, helping my clients with their basic needs. I enjoy talking and getting to know my clients better and building a rapport with them and a relationship based on mutual trust. I love to see my clients smile when their pains are reduced and their needs are met.
