As the head caregiver for my client of four years, I worked closely with clients daughter's and her Physician. My duties included bathing, dressing, doing hair, nails, toileting/wiping, transferring, incontinence care, medication reminder, companionship, and other grooming that is needed for the care of the individual. Massaging and exercising patient for improved circulation and muscle strength. I prepared all of her meals, including meals that were served when I was not on duty. I specialize in dementia patients, the challenge is the beauty of the job. I also, provide care for seizure patients and fall risk patients. Transportation to and from Doctor appointments. Maintaining inventory of groceries, household supplies and clients personal items. Shopping for items needed to maintain the inventory. Taking blood pressure, and other vitals as needed. Doing laundry and light housekeeping. Some gardening to encourage patient to come outside and enjoy the outdoors. I also worked closely with three other caregivers. I provided one on one training for each caregiver. Created and provided shift logs/schedules that assisted caregivers on what should be done during their shift and the time it should be done. Wrote and provided detailed instructions to be used during training and during caregiver shift that explained clients needs and her personal desires. Clean criminal record. Made sure that all meals are prepared and served to the client or that the food is prepared and easily accessible to the client. Transportation to doctor appointments, massage therapy and banking was provided. Grocery shopping, and picking up medication is done most of the time, with out the client. Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment within the clients home, all laundry is done once a week. Clean criminal record, for background screening done by the California Department of Justice.
