My name is Mellisha Lofton and i am from Long Bech Ca and became a caregiver there in 2008 to 2013 for my a women who was paralyzed on the left side of her body until i relocated to Houston TX, she had a two month old son and who i helped care for as well and i loved it. Being close to her made me feel like i can use my strength and ability that she didnt have to help her out in any way possible which i loved doing and made me love my job that much more which was being a Caregiver. I like being a caregiver because I am able to help them in all ways possible, by talking to them, spending time with them, helping them and just being the open heart and hand that they need and want to make their day seem as normal as possible. I currrent work at George Bush Airport as a Lead/ Supervisor Customer Care Agent and my job is to assist Elderly, Disable, and unaccompany minors on and off the aircraft with wheelchairs and or alley chairs (which are used by myself and another co worker to transport them from the wheelchair to the aircraft chair due to them not being able to move, walk, or stand.) We also help carry their bags. The job that i have now is kind of like a caregiving job to me because i am sometimes taking elderly passengers from their families at security and assisting them all the way to their fligts with whatever they need.
