I have over 7 years experience as a caregiver. It all started when I cared for my grandfather, who had Alzheimer's-I helped him for 4 years before he passed. From there, I continued my interest in the at home healthcare field and continue to enjoy this rewarding experience. I am often complimented on my patience, trustworthiness, dependability, punctuality, and understanding (by not creating arguments rather working with both the clients and their families). I also enjoy bringing humor to my clients, as it not only can make their day brighter, but also makes me feel content and happy . Over the years, I have been around many different personalities and conditions, but one thing all the clients have in common is the difference with the level of care in their own homes vs in a facility. They can stay in the comfort of their homes and also get the 1-on-1 care they honestly deserve. I have worked in facilities and in the home setting, and the home care is by far more comfortable, enjoyable, and peaceful for the clients; this has reminded me why I keep walking this path everyday as a caregiver. Knowing that I am making a difference in seniors lives is not only an enriching experience but it also defines my personal job, and that is to be here to help others, whether it's for physical and/or emotional support through compassion.
