I became a caregiver by accident. I originally became acquainted with an elderly lady with alzheimer through friends at work, and was to live in her house and work outside, but, at night be her companion at night. About a year or so later, the other girl who lived here in the other bedroom, got married, so she left to be with her husband. So, at that moment, the daughter of the alzheimer patient asked me if I could help out for awhile, until she found someone. Well, time went on, and no one was the right fit, so her daughter asked me if I would like to take the position, and at that time, I wasn't working with temporary agencies, so, I took the position, and I was not only living with her for almost six years, but, was with her up until she passed away in her bedroom. I like the social and support aspects of caregiving. To help someone in need is very rewarding. I am also very proud of myself that through caregiving, I was able to communicate with a very difficult person, and help them, even beside their temperament. I am a quiet person. I am a Christian, and I like going to church on Sunday. I used to sing professionally with the Camerate of Los Angeles Chorale, and I miss singing in the church choir. I like art and music, and like the 1940's ballad and love songs. I also like to cook, I've cooked for over a hundred people for Thanksgiving and Christmas through an organization that needed someone to do it for them. I was quite surprised that I could do it
