And my heart loves to give to others. Seeing other people happy for the little things I do, as well there improvement within themselve. Each patient I've learned something, and it touches my life to be more humble. I know deep down in my heart there are many life to be touch.

Hello! My name is Jenny-My Tran, and I am currently a student at the University of California, Irvine pursuing my Bachelors in Public Health Policy. Previously, I have worked in a senior living home where I have assisted residents in everyday tasks. I believe that the most important trait that comes with being a caregiver is to be a companion with the residents at the home. I decided to become a caregiver when I grew older and frequently saw my grandparents needing aide with simple tasks such as scheduling appointments and remembering to take their medications. When this happened, I knew at that moment that I would be their caretakers, making sure they always had a safety net to fall on. I enjoy being a caretaker mainly because as a caretaker, we build a relationship with residents. I believe that caretakers give hope and comfort to our seniors by allowing them to gain trust through knowing that we are always available to them. One personal achievement that I am proud of is that although my grandparents passed away, I am still able to give the same love and compassion to other senior living residents as I would to my own grandparents.
