Greetings future client I know all is well because I want to help you make it well! I am 31 years old, a new mother to a wonder 20 months son, and a full time student. I am two months shy of completing my certification as a licensed phlebotomist, and then in the fall I will be starting a weekend two years LVN coarse. If I can describe myself in one word I'd say, "confident." I say that because I do push myself hard and do not mind the struggle if blessings and success is the out come of it. And to be honest that is my blessing and downfall at the same time. Usually I am working 1-3 jobs at a time while in school, and I would push myself too hard and burn myself out. And now as a full time mom and full time student who needs to earn income as well, I am seeing that it's not a wise choice to work full time like I usually do. For most of my employment history I have worked in food and beverage industry and thrived in it. Working in restaurants is very demanding and I would get promoted fast and was an all star, but that require myself coming in and staying late at the drop of a dime and alot of dedication that I was to transfer that dedication to part time work, school, and my child. I would describe myself as confident but anyone else that's knows me would consider me a "nurturer" or a "mom". When I worked in food and beverage my guest would love me because I took my time and got to know them and their needs. Even if they ordered and thought that's what they wanted, I would talk them through the menu and find ways to save them money. Most servers I worked with would try to up charge to increase their tips, I on the other wouldn't. And for some reason I made more money not even trying to. And I treated my senior guest as if I was treating my grandma. I am currently helping my grandma free of charge and have been since 2006. And she keeps on telling me that she want me to become a nurse because I care.
Caregivers that work non-full-time jobs or irregular shifts can negotiate extra compensation in addition to their standard hourly wage.
