After high school I ran my own daycare from my home. Although I loved what I did, it didn't bring me as much joy as caring for the elderly. Years down the line, a job fell into my lap at a home care/housing facility where I educated and assisted developmentally disabled individuals from the ages 21-50. I must say working there was very inspirational; not only did it open my eyes to the world, but it gave me the opportunity to help those who couldn't help themselves. This is what prompted me to further my education in caregiving by attending CNA school. I enjoyed taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like older adults and feel you can get along well with a variety of elders. As Caregivers we take care of our elders, the people who have given so much to this world. Taking care of people is something I'm proud of.
