I started my caregiving career in 2003 by joining IHSS and caring for a 96 year old woman so she could live on her own.Then I was hired by Las Trampas Inc. in Lafayette, CA to care for the Developmentally Delayed and Intellectually Challenged Adults in their homes. I thought it was such an amazing thing to do for someone...to help them keep there freedom and independence. I love being a caregiver because it is a act of kindness and it makes everyone involved feel great. I am so proud of myself for all the lives that I have enriched. I am a mother of a child that requires a special way of doing things, I have a understanding and the training to help and teach.
