Cared for an 85 yr. old female stroke patient. Duties included; Preparing meals, Dressing, Transportation, used a manual lift hoist to sit her in a wheelchair and to return to her bed, cleaned and changed her surgical waste bag. She was mentally alert and was able to feed herself. Her speech was unimpaired. She loved the sun so it was important to her to eat her meals outside on the back porch to soak in the sun. She also liked short rides around town in her van. But most important to her was to attend church on Sundays. She is truly missed.

Live-In Caregiver

Dec 2013 - Apr 2014
Private Party
This patient was an 85 yr. old male who had had 2 strokes and a triple bi-pass surgery after having 2 heart attacks. He had no use in one arm and very little use in the other. His speech was not impaired. When I began working for him he was still driving. It was dangerous even though he drove to only one location and back daily, I was able to persuade him to relinquish his driving privledges. There were many tasks he could not do, which is why he needed me, but his ultimate desire was to not be alone when he died and he wanted to be in his mothers home. He received his wish and will forever be missed.

I began my caregiving career as a skilled CNA in a nursing home at the Care Center in Oakdale. Once I perfected my skills and with the proper work-methods, I resumed my work ethics at Oak Valley Hospital in the Rehabilitation Center; and was promoted by The Director of Nursing to a RNA position ( Restorative Nursing Assistant) working directly with professionals such as PT, PTA, Speech Specialists, RNs and Doctors. It was my absolute pleasure to see my patients regain their health and return home to loved ones. With my acquired experience and knowledge, great compassion and kindness, I became an independent caregiver and have worked as a private caregiver for over 15 yrs. I love what I do. I have met many wonderful clients and family loved ones; and graciously, I have received many letters of recognition. Through my caregiving process, I have worked diligently along side Hospice, applying my nursing skills to bring comfort to dying patients. My goal is to bring a quality of life to my clients with much joy and with a compassion filled with gentle kindness. Please see letters of recommendation and summaries of some of my caregiving positions below.
