Hi my name is Lisa and my background is in caregiving. I enjoy and feel compassionate towards the elderly. I feel that being a caregiver isn't just a job but a calling. You're not just there to provide skills that service the client's physical needs but also there to give them patience and understanding, this allows you to feel connected them personally and I feel as a caregiver that's also an important part of the job. As a caregiver you should look at the person as a whole and care for their entire wellbeing. They're at an important stage of their life and that requires sensitivity from you!
I recently moved to California from South Dakota after receiving my Bachelors of Science degree in both Biology and Physical Science. I have several years of experience caring for a range of people including the elderly and disabled. I provide compassionate and thorough care to all of my clients and ensure that they receive care that exponentially improves their quality of life. Dignity and respect are at the forefront of the care I provide and I am able to think critically and quickly under stress. Caregiving is such a wonderful career because I have the ability to ensure my clients' physical care needs are being met and their mental and emotional wellbeing is thriving. I still keep in touch with several of my past clients in South Dakota via handwritten letters and I often times have family members request my services for their loved ones after I meet them for the first time. Being a caregiver is such a fulfilling and gratifying career because I have the direct ability to make someones quality of life the best it can be.
I Am a very honest fun loving Caring Lady, I enjoy putting that smile on everyone's face, I have always been very interested in learning all about my patients life and experiences I find it to be very fascinating, I went into the nursing field because I love caring for the elderly. I enjoy most about being a caregiver when I see the smile on my patients face as I walk into the door, I love talking about their life and their family history, the patient is the most important. My personal achievement was when I was caring for a gentleman in San Jose he had just had a major back surgery they glued his nerves together so he was pretty much paralyzed when i started caring for him, the doctors told him that he would not walk again, well I was with him for almost a year in a half I did physcial therapy with him every single day we went on walks etc.. I am very proud to say this gentleman is walking, dancing and driving he is now 82 years of age..
I believe I make a great caregiver because of the compassion I have towards others who can't do for themselves to where a simply conversation can make ones day. I love the fact I make a difference in a person life being there for them. Knowing I'm there and they appreciate me being able to help them is a great achievement to me

Hello, I'm Laura 32 years old and I have been a nursing assistant for about 10 years. Unfortunately, I have allowed my certification to lapse but will hopefully be able to reinstate it some time in the near future. I have worked in long-term care and hospital settings. I also started working with in home support service clients at 16 with my mother and started working as a nanny at 18 and have worked with clients from 9 days old to 99 years old. I am very comfortable working in different settings and with a variety of personalities. I have impeccable references and usually only work for clients that have been referred to me by former clients however I am trying to expand my horizons and try something new. I have worked with patients in a facility as well as at home who have g-tubes, foley and straight catheters, and colostomy bags. In the near future I hope to complete school, which I have put on hold for now due to financial difficulties, and continue to grow through helping others during a most difficult time in their lives.
Loving, caring, and a true desire to assist a person who has found themselves in need. My ability to care for, cook, clean and ADL chores is rewarding for me and will in turn make life somewhat easier for them. I can't lift over 50 lbs, however I certainly make up for that in other areas. I'm dedicated, loyal and have always had a strong work ethic. I enjoy the outdoors, sports, gardening and DIY projects.
