I started out as a CNA when I was 16 years old in a convalescent home, I was in the Army from 1975 to 1978. I used the GI Bill to become an LVN. I've worked in LTC, rehabilitation and acute care settings. you name it I've probably done it. My father was a minister and my Mom always wanted to be a nurse, however she kept busy being a ministers wife, I took care of both of them in their last days. I now prefer to take care of people in their homes, which I believe is the ideal setting and much less stressful.

Personality traits that help me provide quality care are having integrity, being caring, trustworthiness, reliable, flexible, always being respectful and understanding, having a positive attitude, and being empathetic. Being a caregiver is something I always wanted to do I love working with people, helping them out, and making them happy. The most beautiful thing I experience as a caregiver is when I see my patients smiling and recovering it's such a rewarding experience being able to give hope. I would say a personal achievement I am proud of is being able to help the ones in need.
